It provides a maintenance allowance of £21,000 per year to cover accommodation, food, books and living expenses in Cambridge. It covers return economy class airfare from Nigeria to the United Kingdom. It includes a contribution towards thesis costs of up to £2,500 for PhD students. Family allowances are provided for scholars who bring their spouse or children to Cambridge. The scholarship also covers visa application costs and provides a settling-in allowance. How to Apply Applications for the Gates Cambridge Scholarship are submitted through the University of Cambridge graduate admissions portal at graduate.study.cam.ac.uk.
